ABOUT THE BOOK
Comfort My People recognises that in today’s society many people are vulnerable to compulsive behaviours and addictions that can, at least, change personalities and , at worst, destroy lives.
Through a mixture of scripture passages, reflections and prayers, this short book seeks to offer prayerful support to people who suffer from problems with alcohol or drugs and those whose lives are affected by other behaviours such as gambling, over-spending, excessive working, over-eating or its reverse, dieting. Comfort My People, is substitute for seeking medical and professional help; rather, drawing on the inspirational life of the Venerable Matt Talbot, its intention is to offer encouragement and spiritual support in times of suffering and stress.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tom Ryan is a priest of the Diocese of Killaloe and parish priest of Shannon in Co. Clare. For more than a decade, he has organised an annual Novena to Matt Talbot which has drawn people from all parts of Ireland. This book has resulted from the success of the Novena.
